I love getting to read and review these books and interview the authors. That is really amazing, Stacey, I wasn’t aware of that. I’m not a scriptwriter, but I wrote a detailed plot outline that included the characters, and they based the script off of that. Now, I don’t know if you know this, but one of the Hallmark Christmas movies this year was based on a treatment I wrote: Christmas In Evergreen. And you know, Journey Back to Christmas is probably my favorite Hallmark movie. And I think I’ve interviewed almost every author so far and will be publishing the last two reviews with accompanying interviews very soon. So far, I’ve read Journey Back to Christmas, Love You Like Christmas, Moonlight in Vermont, Love Locks, and Perfect Catch. Thank you for being a part of our review program. And I appreciate all the support you’re giving us. So when they ask me about getting published, I always recommend Hallmark. People come to me for advice now and then because they figure I know everything about everything (which I don’t). And since Hallmark Publishing has begun, I’ve recommended it to some of my author friends. If I remember right, you guys announced it this past summer. It’s complicated to get it started up, but it’s really exciting.
And, of course, I’d never done it before either. That’s the stuff I don’t know anything about.Ībsolutely.
It takes a while to get a whole new corporation set up. It took some time to talk about everything and get it all set up. So that’s how the whole new idea came about. Well, as it turned out, they had already been thinking about it. As soon as I found out when he was going to be in town, I emailed him and asked if I could have a half hour to pitch him this business idea. I found out when he was going to be in Kansas City since there is where I live and work. That’s how I started thinking how publishing books would be a good thing for Hallmark to get into. Also on my own, I published romance under a pen name. And then on my own, I always worked in writing and editorials. Well, I’ve worked with Hallmark for a long time. When I saw the idea for Hallmark Publishing, I thought, “That’s a really good idea! Why didn’t somebody think of that before?” I’m sure it was in the works for a while. I’m excited to see everything that’s coming.
I love seeing everything that’s happening with Hallmark Publishing too. In fact, I was just reading your interview with Nelson Wong. I love your website! She was kind enough to detail many elements regarding this new facet of Hallmark, and I am quite pleased to finally be able to share this chat with all of my readers. Since Stacey Donovan is the director of Hallmark Publishing, I was honored to be able to speak with her earlier this year. When it was announced this past summer that Hallmark was going to begin publishing books, I thought that was a fantastic idea, and I knew I wanted to do all I could to assist them in this new endeavor. It is probably a fairly safe bet to state that when it comes to the Hallmark Network and Company, I tend to wholeheartedly support and promote practically everything associated with Hallmark.
